Miguel Ángel has a degree in Law with Honors and Degree in Legal Sciences by Pontifical University of Comillas (ICADE)-Madrid (Spain).

He brings a wealth of experience to his career, with recent positions reflecting his expertise and leadership. He currently holds the role of Associate Professor of Commercial and Business Law in the Department of Commercial Law at the Complutense University of Madrid, Spain. Since 2018, Miguel  Ángel has been actively contributing to the academic field, sharing his knowledge and insights with students. Prior to his academic role, Miguel Ángel held significant positions in renowned law firms. From 2014 to 2017, he served as Partner and Head of the Arbitration & Litigation Department at "Crowe Horwath, Tax & Legal" in Madrid. Miguel Ángel's earlier experience includes his tenure as Partner and Head of the Litigation & Arbitration Department at the esteemed "Cremades & Calvo-Sotelo" Law Firm in Madrid from 2010 to 2014. Notably, Miguel Ángel spent a significant part of his career at the renowned "Garrigues" Law Firm, where he served as a Partner in the Litigation & Arbitration Department in Madrid for nearly two decades, from 1991 to 2010. His journey began as an Assistant Professor of the Litigation Law Department at the Pontifical University of Comillas (ICADE) in Madrid, Spain, where he honed his legal expertise from 1987 to 1991.

Miguel Ángel is an arbitrator included by the European Commission in the List of Candidates Suitable for Appointment as Arbitrators under trade agreements to which the European Union is a party.

He serves as the Vice President of the Arbitration Council of the Autonomous Region of Madrid (Spain).

He holds the prestigious position of President of the European Arbitration Association.

Additionally, he acts as an arbitrator at various international and national arbitration centers, including but not limited to AIAC, ATPA, CIAM, CIAR, DIAC, ICC, LCIA, SCC, CAM, CEA, CICAM, TAB, and more.

Member of the Madrid Bar Association since 1991.

Member of the Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe.

Member of the “Spanish and Iberoamerican Club of Arbitration” (“CEIA”).

Member of the Latin America International Arbitration (LIA).

Interventions before different Jurisdictional Courts and Arbitral Tribunals as a Trial Attorney and Lawyer (CJUE, ECHR, Supreme Court and Constitutional Court of the Kingdom of Spain, ICC, ICSID, etc.).

Co-counsel: cases followed before the jurisdictions of Argentina, Canada, Chile, Colombia, USA, Mexico, Peru, Switzerland, UK and Venezuela.
