Rodrigo Buenaventura

Chair of National Securities Market Commission (CNMV)

Rodrigo Buenaventura is serving as Chair of CNMV since 2020. He is also chairing the ESMA Markets Standing Committee and the IOSCO Sustainable Finance Task Force since December 2022. Additionally, he is Vice-Chair of the OECD’s Corporate Governance Committee. 

From 2017 to 2020 he was Director General for Markets at the CNMV, leading supervision and policy on secondary markets, primary markets, financial reporting, corporate governance and market abuse investigations. 

From 2011 to 2017 he was the first Head of Markets of the then newly-created ESMA. He was in charge of policy on post-trading, secondary markets, market data and market conduct (short selling and market abuse). During this period, he contributed to the build-up of the organisation and led the team that undertook the drafting and consultation of technical standards under many EU regulations enacted after the financial crisis: EMIR, MiFID II, CSDR, Short Selling, Market Abuse, Benchmarks and SFTR. 

From 2005 to 2011 he was, subsequently, Head of International and Head of Secondary Markets at CNMV. 

From 1993 to 2004 he developed a career as a financial consultant at a leading private Spanish consulting company (AFI). 

He graduated in Economics at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. 

Marcel Haag

Director of Horizontal Policies at the Directorate-General for Financial Stability, Financial Services and Capital Markets Union

Marcel Haag studied law at the universities of Freiburg, Bonn, Strasbourg and at the EUI in Florence and qualified as a judge in Düsseldorf. After a short stint in business, he joined the European Commission and worked in different Commission services. Until the summer of 2020 Mr Haag served as a Director for policy coordination in the Secretariat-General of the Commission.  He is currently Director for Horizontal policies at the Directorate-General for Financial Stability, Financial Services and Capital Markets Union.

Álvaro López Barceló

Director General of the Treasury and Financial Policy

Alvaro López Barceló was appointed Director General of the Treasury and Financial Policy in August 2022. His work involves, among other tasks, Spain’s regulation of the banking sector, capital markets and payment systems; devising and executing the Kingdom of Spain’s funding programme; the promotion of the Spanish debt in Spain and in roadshows abroad; the supervision of the Treasury’s cash position and management; sustainable and digital finance; and the inspection and control of capital movements for the purposes of the fight against money laundering and terrorism financing.

Before that, he held various positions at the Spanish Ministry of Economic Affairs including as Head of Funding and Debt Management, Head of Strategic Analysis and IMF/G20 Relations and as Deputy Head of Competition and Economic Regulation. He also worked at the European Commission in Brussels for three years in the Directorate General for Economic and Financial Affairs. He has been a member of the Financial Services Committee of the European Union, the Financial Markets Committee of the OECD, the G20 Working Group on International Financial Architecture and a Member of the Management Board of ENISA, Spain’s National Innovation Company.

Catherine Bohill

ESG Development and Impact Director at Telefonica

Catherine leads the ESG Development team at Telefonica.  Her remit includes Responsible business, Diversity & Inclusion and Stakeholder Engagement. Her priority is to attract ESG oriented capital – understanding investor demands, stretching commitments and raising awareness of Telefonica’s credentials.

Catherine has worked for Telefonica for over 20 years. Before joining the sustainability team, Catherine worked in M&A, B2B and Corporate Strategy, where she managed the Group’s spectrum auctions. Previously to Telefonica, Catherine worked for Daimler Chrysler in Germany and Holland and with the World Bank in Washington DC.

Catherine has a BA in European Business, a Diplom Betriebswirt (ESB Reutlingen FH) and a Masters in Finance from the Instituto de Empresa in Madrid.

Ana de Miguel Cabrera

General Director for Institutional Relations and Strategic - City Council of Madrid

Ana has a degree in Architecture from the ETSAM (Madrid School of Architecture, Polytechnic University), specialising in urban planning, and has completed the Public Management Leadership Programme at IESE Business School.

In 2004, she passed the competitive examination for the Corps of Architects for the Public Finance. Her first postings were in the General Directorate of Land Registry (Land Registry Management of Extremadura-Badajoz and Central Services) in the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

In 2006, she joined the Directorate General for Historical Heritage of the Madrid Regional Government, where she held various posts, including Deputy Director-General of Protection & Conservation between 2009 and 2013.

She subsequently returned to the National Government as an advisor to the Office of the Secretary of State for the Environment and directed that office from July 2015 to February 2017.

From February 2017 to June 2019, she worked as an Assessment Advisor to the Land Registry General Directorate (Ministry of Finance). Since 2018, she has been an Inspector of Services with the National Government.

From June 2019 to May 2022, she was Director of the Office of the Mayor of Madrid. Since then, she has been the General Director of the Mayor’s Coordination Office and, currently, is the General Director for Institutional Relations and Strategic Projects within Madrid City Council.

Markus Müller

Chief Investment Officer ESG & Global Head of Chief Investment Office Deutsche Bank - Private Bank

Markus H.-P. Müller main research focus lie in the structural transformation of economies and societies as well as in the area of sustainability. Markus authored several books and articles on the transformation of society and economies. Markus is currently Global Head of the Chief Investment Office of the Private Bank, Deutsche Bank AG. In June 2022 he took over the role of Chief Investment Officer ESG in addition to his current function.

 

Markus began his career at Deutsche Bank in DB Research as executive assistant to the chief economist. During his studies at Münster University in Germany, he acquired broad international experience with focus on China, later working as an Economist at Allianz Life Insurance in Shanghai. Markus has held teaching posts in corporate finance and economics, being a visiting scholar at the Frankfurt School of Finance and the University of Bayreuth as well as at the Banking and Finance Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Tashkent.  

 

In January 2019 Markus H.-P. Müller published his first book under the title „Neo-Ordoliberalismus – Zukunftsmodell für die Soziale Marktwirtschaft“ at Springer-Gabler. His recent book he published in May 2021 under the title “Deutschland und China zwischen Kooperation und Konkurrenz”. In 2023 he will publish his new book on India on its transformation to a post-industrial economy.

Jose Luis Blasco

Global Sustainability Director at Acciona

José Luis is the Global Sustainability Director at ACCIONA. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the Complutense University of Madrid and a Master’s in Business Administration from the Instituto de Empresa. With over two decades of experience, he has excelled in managing, developing, and independently reviewing corporate responsibilities.

In 2019, José Luis joined ACCIONA, assuming the role of Global Sustainability Director. Additionally, he is a member of the Technical Expert Group on Sustainable Finance, representing the European Commission.

Throughout his extensive career, José Luis has held significant positions in various companies. He became a partner at KPMG in 2008 after joining the firm in 2003. Before that, he served as Director in the Central Department of Cruz Roja, Internal Auditor at the National Westminster Bank, and Director at the NatWest España, Teneo, and Entorno Foundations.

Beyond his professional endeavors, José Luis is also deeply involved in academia, sharing his expertise as a professor at different universities. His outstanding contributions to the field of sustainability have earned him international recognition. Furthermore, he serves as the director of the ESG financial analysts training program, focusing on corporate governance, social responsibility, and environmental matters at IEAF in Spain.

Ana Gascón

President of DIRSE and director of Sustainability strategy for packaging in Europe at the Coca-Cola Company

Ana is in charge of promoting Coca-Cola’s responsible business model, reinforcing the company’s environmental, social and good governance strategy. Prior to joining Coca-Cola in 2015, she worked for 15 years at Banco Popular, devoting the last 8 years to managing Corporate Responsibility projects and occupying the management of the department for the last three years.

 Ana holds a degree in Political Science and Administration from the Complutense University of Madrid. She was top of his promotion in the Higher Program in Corporate Responsibility Management at the Instituto de Empresa. She also has other postgraduate courses such as the Master in European Integration from the College of Europe (Bruges, Belgium), the Master in European Union Law from the University of Alcalá de Henares and has also worked as a strategic consultant in different public and private entities.

Martin Moloney

Secretary General of International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO)

Martin Moloney joined the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) in September 2021 as Secretary General.

Prior to joining IOSCO, Martin was Director General of the Jersey Financial Services Commission (JFSC) and before that he worked as a Special Adviser on Risk and Regulation to the Central Bank of Ireland (CBI), where he served for 16 years, previously heading up the Markets Policy, Markets Supervision, and Legal and Finance Divisions respectively. Prior to joining the CBI, Martin worked for brief periods in the Department of Justice and the Irish Competition Authority, and spent ten years working in the Irish Department of Finance in positions of responsibility in relation to both national and semi-State debt management and the sale of State banks. Martin spent his early career working in Industry at Barclays Bank and the Bank of Ireland in London.

Martin has an LLM in Business Law and a Masters qualification in Economic Policy, both from Trinity College Dublin. He has Postgraduate Diplomas in Arbitration, Regulatory Management and has completed professional examinations of the Chartered Institutes of Bankers and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

Julia Devos

Head of Global Community of New Champions, World Economic Forum

Julia is the head of the global community of the New Champions at the World Economic Forum. This group gathers innovative & forward-looking mid-size companies, mindful of their impact on society and aspiring in building a better future.

Julia is a French national who started her career working for Major Events. Her first role was with Atos, a French IT company sponsor of the Olympic Games. She was responsible for their marketing and communications programs during the Athens, Torino and Beijing Olympic Games. In 2009 she switched career and assumed a leadership role in a media buying company where she steered the company towards regional development and growth by leveraging her deep understanding of the Asian market.

Julia’s journey with the World Economic Forum began in 2017, when she managed Asian Strategic Partners from Beijing. Now, at the helm of the New Champions community, she guides mid-size companies that care about their impact on society and the world. These companies aren’t just focused on profit – they’re working to create a better future for everyone.

Olivier Woeffray

Practice Lead, Strategic Intelligence at World Economic Forum

Olivier Woeffray serves as the Practice Lead for Strategic Intelligence at the World Economic Forum. With over ten years of experience bridging the gap between the private and public sectors, he specializes in deciphering intricate and emerging matters by harnessing strategic foresight, expert networks, and systems thinking.

Olivier has researched and written about future preparedness with leading academic partners from around the world. He regularly designs and facilitate workshops for companies and coalitions of organizations from across sectors.

Olivier is passionate about the power of collective intelligence and collective action to drive change within and across organizations.

Ángel Agudo

Board Director & SVP of Product at Clarity AI

Ángel is currently the SVP of Product and a Member of the Board at Clarity AI.  He joined the company in 2017, when it was founded, as the Head of Research. Clarity AI, which is headquartered in New York, has since grown to more than 200 employees and has received funding from SoftBank, BlackRock and Deutsche Börse, in addition to other leading venture capital firms. Clarity AI has won several industry awards including special recognition from the World Economic Forum in 2020 as a Tech Pioneer.

Prior to his current role at Clarity AI, Ángel helped develop disruptive methodologies for impact measurement, including the first quantitative methodology – to measure the impact of companies – as aligned to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) framework.  

Before joining the corporate world, Ángel worked in academia. For more than 10 years, he was active in research, contributing to dozens of conferences, books and publications and serving as a visiting fellow at the Harvard University Center for Climate, Health, and the Global Environment. He also served as the youngest professor at the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM). He received a degree in Telecommunication Engineering and Business Administration, MSc in Innovation Management, and PhD in Economics from UPM. Most recently, Angel completed post-graduate programs in Entrepreneurship at Harvard and MIT Sloan School of Management.

Concha Iglesias​

Partner at Deloitte Spain and Sustainability & Climate Leader

Concha is a Partner at Deloitte Spain with more than 20 years of experience in professional services. Since 2020, she is leader of the “Sustainability & Climate” Practice for Deloitte Spain.

She has developed a large part of her professional career at the Firm since she joined Deloitte in 2000, having been promoted to partner in 2013. In 2016 she was appointed national leader of Deloitte’s Media and Technology Industry in Spain, in 2018 responsible for Risk services Strategy of the Firm (Corporate Governance, Strategic Risk, Brand & Reputation Risk, Crisis Management, Sustainability, Risk Sensing). Since 2019 Concha is the Partner responsible for Sustainability & Climate services for the Firm in Spain.

Her extensive experience as a Sustainability and Climate leader draws on making an impact that matters around business transformation. She has helped leading companies successfully navigate constantly across evolving landscapes (Sustainability and climate strategy, supply chain transformation, reporting strategy) for a wide variety of sectors. Due to her role in this practice, Concha has been appointed among the Top 25 Consultants and Leaders in Sustainability 2022 by The Consulting Report.

Concha holds a degree in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Oviedo and a PDD from IESE. He has been a member of the ROAC since 2009. Business Sustainability Management, from University of Cambridge – Institute for sustainability Leadership and : Circular economy and transition to the future of sustainability from MIT.

She actively collaborates with Prodis, a foundation dedicated to the social integration of people with disabilities, demonstrating her commitment to social causes. Susan Guerrero

Susana Guerrero is the General Counsel of Lar España and Vice-secretary to the Board of Directors of the Company. She joined Lar España in November 2014.

She is currently also Deputy Director of the Center for Corporate Governance at ESADE and responsible for its Opinion and Public Debate area.

Previously she worked for 10 years as a corporate and M&A lawyer at Uría Menéndez, leading M&A deals and handling the Secretary of the Board in many companies from different sectors.

Juan Aguiriano is a corporate sustainability pioneer with over 30 years’ experience leading businesses and working at C-suite level at some of the world’s biggest food, chemical and fibers companies to provide strategic guidance in helping develop and implement innovative strategies to transform businesses and operations towards triple-bottom line sustainability.


Currently leading the sustainability strategy at the Kerry Group, a world leader in Taste and Nutrition, Juan is focused on creating significant, positive impact on the environment and society, by driving businesses’ sustainability leadership.

Lisa Hehenberger

Director Center for Social Impact at Esade

Dr. Lisa Hehenberger is director of the Esade Center for Social Impact and a professor in the Strategy and General Management Department. She is a renowned expert on venture philanthropy and impact investment. She is responsible for launching Esade’s Impact Investing and Social Entrepreneurship Initiative dedicated to both academic and practitioner research, including a mapping study of impact investing in Spain. She is also a member of the European Commission’s Expert Group on Social Business and the OECD’s Social Impact Investment Expert Group.

Dr. Hehenberger’s research focuses on applying organisational theory to study the evolution of venture philanthropy and impact investment. She has published numerous articles in prestigious academic journals and practitioner-oriented publications, as well as in numerous publications issued by the EVPA Knowledge Centre.

Jon Armentia

Corporate Director & CFO at Lar España

Mr. Jon Armentia is the Corporate Director & CFO of the Company. He joined Lar España in 2014.

Mr. Jon Armentia was appointed CFO of Grupo Lar in 2006, covering the area of retail properties. Previously he worked in Deloitte (formerly Arthur Andersen) for four years.

Mr. Jon Armentia has a Bachelors Degree in Business Management and Administration from Universidad de Navarra and a General Management Program (PDG) from IESE and has over 20 years of experience in real estate, finance and audit, in which he has participated in several Committees and Boards of Directors.

Recognized in June 2019 as one the 100 Best CFOs of the decade by KPMG and Actualidad Económica.

Alicia Muñoz Lombardía

Head of Governance, Regulatory Affairs and Privacy. Deputy Secretary Board - Santander Spain

Alicia Muñoz Lombardía is the Vice Secretary of the Santander Spain Council and has spent her entire professional career in various managerial positions in Grupo Santander. She is responsible for Governance, Regulation, and Privacy, with direct interaction with regulators, supervisors, and public administrations in Spain, Europe, and internationally. She serves on the Board of Directors of several companies and is a regular speaker and author of publications in specialized and generalist media. She is committed to diversity and sustainability and is a founding member of Women Action Sustainability. She holds a degree in Law and a diploma in Business Administration and has completed several postgraduate programs, including the recent Comprehensive European Union Program and Digital Leader Program at Deusto Business School.

Pablo Bascones

Partner and the Head of Sustainability and Climate Change at PwC Spain

Pablo Bascones is a Partner and the Head of Sustainability and Climate Change at PwC Spain.

He oversees sustainability and climate change services in the country. Pablo holds a degree in Environmental Sciences, a diploma in International Business from the University of Berkeley, and an Executive MBA from IESE. With a consulting career spanning over 20 years, he has worked at Arthur Andersen, G-Advisory (Garrigues), and PwC, accumulating extensive experience. He has been involved in more than 200 projects related to governance, reporting, and sustainability strategy, providing advisory services to public administrations, private companies, and investors. Additionally, Pablo has delivered numerous training courses and conferences on sustainability at esteemed institutions such as Business Schools, Professional Institutes, and Universities. He has also contributed to the field through the publication of over 30 articles on these topics.

Martin Nichols

Martin Nichols is responsible for Spanish and Portuguese clients, and ESG outreach at S&P in Southern Europe at S&P Global Ratings. Martin started his career in 2008 at UBS Investment Bank in New York in operations, before becoming Senior Vice President within the client coverage team at asset manager, State Street Global Advisors in London. In his current role at S&P Global Ratings, he works with clients to help them access the sustainable finance markets as well as communicate to their key ESG stakeholders through ESG ratings. Martin is fluent in Spanish and English and has been a CFA charter holder since 2012. Martin graduated from Loughborough University after studying Maths and Management.

Silvia Madrid

Silvia started her career as in-house counsel at Banco Central Hispano. Subsequently, she worked as Deputy General Counsel at Banco Santander in New York, and then she worked for two years as an associate at the law firm White & Case LL.P in New York in the Project Finance team. Pablo Pérez-Montero

Professional with over 19 years of experience in Corporate and Investment Banking holding different positions and international exposure across a variety of industries and geographies. MBA graduate from IE Business School and BA in Business from CUNEF and Sustainable Finance degree from University of Cambridge.

He led and managed cross-team advisory and structured finance services, as Head of Sustainable Finance in CaixaBank CIB&IB, leading this area in the bank at a global level, which promotes sustainable financing solutions and advisory for Corporate, Institutional and International clients. This includes all the products that CIB&IB offers, such as Structured Lending, Bonds, Transactional Banking, Asset & Trade Finance, Derivatives and Advisory Services. On his role as Global Head of Sustainable Finance, he is also member of the CaixaBank Global Sustainability Committee.

In 2022 he was appointed Head of Global ESG Advisory team, which develops in addition to his current rol ESG Advisory & Rating Advisory to promote a strategic approach to corporate clients and providing them added value to improve the engagement with CaixaBank. This is an innovative service for which his own in-house methodology has been developed based on the Cambridge University guide and which he has implemented with a specific team, obtaining very positive results in the CIB&IB client portfolio.

As leader of the Sustainable Finance area, he encourages clients to innovate and develop clean technologies to align their activities with the decarbonization and transition path, also promoting an alignment with the Social impact. Andromeda Wood

Andromeda “Andie” Wood is vice president for regulatory strategy for Workiva and will be bringing her knowledge of the technology and regulation landscape in Europe to help inform the EMEA strategy and support the region’s growth. She is an expert in data modeling, taxonomy design, and the role of technology in corporate reporting.

Andie is an experienced data and semantic modeler and also contributes to the XBRL standard at the international level. She brings a wealth of knowledge and deep understanding of regulatory impacts to global firms emerging from the European Union’s Transparency Directive and Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). Mª Concepción Fernández

She holds a Diploma in Business and a degree in Economics. After having developed her career for 12 years at the multinational BASF, where she held different positions related to logistics and supply chain; she joined PortAventura World in 2007.

Ismael Aznar

Ismael is an expert in Environmental Law with over 20 years of experience in topics such as circular economy and waste, climate change, environmental permits, and biodiversity. He is currently PwC’s co-lead for ESG Legal.
